Reuse Project Final EIR available

Concord, CA (Jan. 21, 2010) - In January 2009, the Concord City Council, sitting as the Local Reuse Authority, designated a preferred reuse plan alternative for the Concord Community Reuse Project (CCRP) and directed staff to conduct further environmental impact review under the California Environmental Quality Act.

A draft Revised EIR was released for public review on August 28, 2009. Public comments were received through October 26, 2009.

A Final EIR was released Friday, January 15. The Final EIR is composed of three volumes of material:

Final EIR with track notations reflecting changes to the project summary, impact analyses, and mitigations.

  • Response to Comments on the May 2008 draft EIR
  • Response to Comments on the August 2009 draft Revised EIR

The Concord City Council, sitting as the Local Reuse Authority, will consider these documents, staff recommendations and take public input on the CCRP at its regularly scheduled City Council meetings Tuesday, Feb. 9 and Feb. 23 beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Feb. 9 meeting will be held in the City Council Chamber at Civic Center, 1950 Parkside Drive. The Feb. 23 meeting will be held at the Concord Senior Center, 2727 Parkside Circle.

Council action to certify the Final EIR and adopt the Reuse Plan is not anticipated until the Feb. 23 meeting.

The Final EIR documents are available on the Reuse Project website at www.concordreuseproject.org. A printed copy is available for review at the Concord Public Library.
