2005 Concord Centennial Information

Centennial logo

In 2005 Concord celebrated the 100th Anniversary of its incorporation. Although the town was founded in 1868 by Don Salvio Pacheco, it was not officially incorporated until February 1905. In honor of this milestone, 2005 was designated as Concord's Centennial year.

"Concord, Celebrating 100 Years of Community" was selected as the Centennial theme. One hundred colorful banners, with the Centennial logo and slogan, were installed on street light poles throughout Concord.

The Centennial kick-off celebration was held Saturday, February 5, 2005. The City's Centennial celebration officially came to a close with a grand finale on December 3, 2005 at the Mayor's Sing-Along and Tree Lighting event in Todos Santos Plaza.

Many thanks to the Centennial sponsors: Concord Disposal, Bank of America, Mt. Diablo Medical Center, BEI Systron Donner, ChevronTexaco, Pacific Coast Farmers' Market, Costco, Willows Shopping Center, Brenden Theatres, CBS5 and Contra Costa Times.
