Concord Mayor's State-of-the-City address available online

Concord Mayor Guy Bjerke's 2010 State-of-the-City address is now available online. The 20-minute speech can be viewed from the City's website home page at www.cityofconcord.org by going to the News & Events box and selecting the number two tab at the top of the box.

The mayor gave the speech at the annual Mayor's Luncheon, sponsored by the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, held Jan. 20 at the Hilton Concord. His comments speak to the City's budget issues and the role the community plays in assisting the City Council in setting budgeting priorities for the coming year. He also sees hope for an eventual economic turnaround as demonstrated by new construction projects, such as Lowe's and John Muir Medical Center expansion in Concord. In the long-view, he reports on progress in finalizing the plan for the reuse of the former Concord Naval Weapons Station.
