Concord celebrates Independence Day with run, parade, entertainment
Concord's 4th of July Jubilee celebration, produced by the Todos Santos Business Association, begins at 6:30 a.m. in Todos Santos Plaza with a pancake breakfast hosted by Concord/Diablo Rotary Club. Breakfast will be served until 11 a.m., then hotdogs will be served until 3 p.m. Tickets are $5. The 4th of July Jubilee also features the annual parade, arts and crafts booths and entertainment on the Todos Santos stage.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. for the Concord Police Association's third annual "Stars and Stripes 5K Run/Walk" with an 8:30 a.m. start. The run/walk benefits the Monument Crisis Center and the Concord Police Association's Community Fund that supports local charities and community programs.
The 4th of July Parade, sponsored by Tesoro Golden Eagle Refinery, steps off at 10 a.m. with a new route this year, starting at Salvio Street and Mira Vista Terrace (just west of the Brenden Theaters garage) and proceeding east, straight up Salvio Street to the Concord Library at Parkside Drive.
The Concord 4th of July Jubilee continues until 3 p.m. with craft and antique booths around the plaza, presented by the Concord Antique Faire. Entertainment on the main stage will be presented by the Willows Theatre.
Todos Santos Plaza is located in downtown Concord on Willow Pass Road between Mt. Diablo and Grant streets. Ample free parking is available in the municipal parking garage on Salvio Street between Grant and Colfax streets and in the Todos Santos Parking Center at the corner of Concord Ave. and Salvio St.
