Citywide Concord Clean-Up Day is December 2


The City of Concord is sponsoring its first Citywide Clean-up Day on Saturday, Dec.2 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Residents are encouraged to bring junk and debris that won't fit in the regular trash receptacles to one of eight locations where staff will assist them with placing items in a Dumpster. There is no charge for the service.

"We want to help people get rid of those bulky items that are cluttering up the yard or garage," says Concord Special Events Program Coordinator Shannon Griffin, "It's time to clean up for the holidays."

Items such as toys, furniture, old magazines/newspapers, home improvement/gardening supplies, sports equipment, etc. can be dropped at one of the following locations:

  • Hillcrest Park: 2050 Olivera Road (near Grant Street)
  • Ygnacio Valley Park: 901 Oak Grove Road (near Minert Road)
  • Concord Community Park: 3501 Cowell Road
  • Newhall Park (off Newhall Parkway): 1350 Newhall Parkway (off Clayton Road)
  • Concord Pavilion: 2000 Kirker Pass Road
  • Willow Pass Park: Salvio Street (between N. 6th Street and Olivera Road)
  • Denkinger Road: East end (dead end near Lynwood Drive)
  • Meadow Homes Park: 1351 Detroit Avenue (near Sunshine Drive)

The event does not include the collection of the following items: hazardous waste, appliances (microwaves, refrigerators, AC units, washers, freezers, stoves, etc.), mattresses/box springs, e-Waste, cell phones, CRTs or tires.
