Cell phones
According to industry experts, 30 million used cellular telephones have been discarded in the U.S. Phones and phone parts, like batteries and cords, can be recycled. Old phones should not be thrown away because they contain toxic materials. There are at least four benefits in donating your old wireless phone.
- You help the environment.
- The phone can be converted for use in the developing world where there is no regular telephone service.
- There are more than 50 organizations that raise funds for charity.
- You can get a tax-deduction for your phone donation.
