Concord PD Highlights
The Concord Police Department Traffic Unit actively manages several enforcement programs, in addition to their daily enforcement operations. The programs include grants from the Office of Traffic Safety, aimed at enhancing local traffic safety, such as the campaign against DUI drivers. In addition, the Traffic Unit enforcement operations specifically target pedestrian safety, vehicle occupant safety-restraint use, motorcycle safety, school zone safety and several other areas.
Officers of the Concord Police Department have received local and regional awards for their contributions to traffic safety and the anti-DUI campaigns. Recently, officers were recognized by Contra Costa County Supervisor Susan Bonilla for dedication to preventing drunk driving. In addition, on April 24, 2010, the Concord Police Department was recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for contributions to the prevention of drunk driving.
Ultimately, it is the goal of the Concord Police Traffic Unit to make our streets as safe as possible; for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclist alike.
